Before the Mobility
All students approved for an Erasmus+ student mobility for studies are invited to get acquainted with the Erasmus+ Student Charter. Prior to the mobility, they sign the following documents:
Learning Agreement for Studies
All students participating in Erasmus+ mobility for studies sign a Learning Agreement for Studies before their departure. The Learning Agreement for Studies contains the list of courses to be taken and agreed upon by the student and the responsible academic body of the two institutions concerned. Guidelines on how to use the Learning Agreement for Studies can be found here. Another easy way to fill out the Learning Agreement for Studies can be found here. Changes in the Learning Agreement for Studies are possible within 5 weeks after the mobility start and these should be communicated to and agreed with both higher education institutions. Outgoing students are assisted in preparing the Learning Agreement for Studies by the institutional Erasmus+ coordinator who consults with the Programme Director of the respective programme and agrees on the final list of modules with the receiving institution.
The Learning Agreement for Studies must contain detailed information about the ECTS credits to be obtained during the mobility with the aim of full credit recognition after the successful completion of the mobility.
Grant Agreement
The Grant Agreement is signed between the student and VUM and stipulates the conditions for the financial support provided by the Erasmus+ programme. The financial support for the mobility period is determined by VUM by multiplying the actual mobility duration in days/months to the daily/monthly rate specified for the particular host country. In case of incomplete months, the financial support will be calculated by multiplying the number of days of the incomplete month to 1/30 of the unit rate per month. The following monthly grants apply for an Erasmus+ student mobility for placement depending on the receiving country:
Host country | Monthly amount /in EUR/ | |
Group 1 | Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Luxemburg, Sweden, UK, Liechtenstein, Norway | 520 |
Group 2 | Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Malta and Portugal | 520 |
Group 3 | Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, FYROM, Turkey | 470 |
Language support prior the mobility
In late 2015, VUM started implementing a new Internationalization strategy. The strategy envisages the introduction of new activities related to English language teaching and training. VUM stimulates intensive English language teaching with the aim of improving its students’ global competencies. All full-time students at VUM willing to participate in mobility can enroll in English language courses offered during the academic year Monday to Friday at 3:30 pm and taught by VUM faculty. Attendance is free of charge for all VUM students (full-time and exchange). In case students intend to study at an institution where the language of instruction is French, German, or Spanish, they can receive additional support and assistance from VUM faculty via one-to-one consultations.
