From May 18th to May 22nd 2024, VUM welcomed a delegation of eight academic and administrative representatives from Otgontenger University (OTU), Mongolia, for a staff mobility programme supported by the Erasmus+ programme.
The mobility focused on higher education internationalisation, transnational education, intercultural engagement, and the development of new approaches to international cooperation. It also provided an opportunity for colleagues from OTU and VUM to exchange expertise, explore institutional practices, and identify opportunities for future joint initiatives.

The training programme addressed several key aspects of higher education internationalisation. Sessions included Building Global Skills in Local Contexts for Culturally Sustainable Higher Education, Internationalisation at Home: Embracing Intercultural Engagement and Cultural Diversity across Campus, and Effective Strategies and Current Trends in Transnational Education. The training sessions were delivered by Dr Nedka Dimitrova, Vanina Vacheva, and Christina Armutlieva.
Particular attention was given to transnational education and double degree programmes, including their design, delivery, and quality assurance. Through training sessions, discussions, and other activities, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with VUM experts and consider how internationalisation practices could be adapted to their own institutional contexts.
By combining professional training, intercultural exchange, and strategic discussions, the mobility strengthened the partnership between the two universities and opened new possibilities for future academic cooperation.
