Sofiia Kovalevska is a first-year student in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts programme at Varna University of Management. 
In the summer of 2026, she is in Tenerife, Spain, where she completed an internship at Donaire Restaurant, gaining valuable hands-on experience through the Erasmus+ programme. 
Here’s what Sofiia has to say about her experience:
‘My name is Sofiia Kovalevska, I’m a first-year studying Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Varna University of Management, and this summer I’m having my first-ever internship at restaurant Donaire in Tenerife, Spain.
Right now, I’m assisting with all the processes in the hot kitchen, learning new techniques to prepare simple products and make interesting combinations of sweet and savoury. One of the last things I made is a white chocolate and olive cream that is served with fish.
Here, I enjoy being a part of a well-coordinated team, and I pick up habits that make me precise.
I’m very glad I have such opportunities with Erasmus+. Combining what I learned at Culinary Arts Institute and new experiences in kitchens overseas shapes my developing career.’
