Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme hosted by Varna University of Management, Bulgaria

Objectives of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)

To prepare students to effectively manage their transition from study to work by exposure to both the range of opportunities available to them and the tools and techniques required to embrace these opportunities. The teach participants to articulate and position what are remarkable about one’s self given the current marketplace realities.

Learning outcomes of the BIP

Upon completion of the module students will be able to:

  • Identify where their chosen career path/s may lie within the employment market and methods to access these pathways and synthesize the component skills and knowledge requirements of the chosen career path/s and delineate how they can demonstrate these skills.
  • Understand the relevance of a personal brand in shaping one’s career.
  • Formulate a work-in-progress personal brand proposition and strategies to deliver a
    consistent personal brand.

  • Understanding employability trends and employability skills in 21st century
  • The Living CV
  • Personal SWOT analysis
  • Career and “Futuring” skills
  • Introduction to branding
  • Building, magnifying, re-calibrating a personal brand.

Tentative timeframe

Physical component: 9 – 14 June 2025
Virtual component: 8 contact hours delivered during the week commencing 23 June 2025

Assessment and completion

  • An individual video output as one’s living CV and written brand architecture
  • In-class performance & engagement in independent study
  • An individual effort to assess one’s professional digital footprint and jump start using Linkedin and other portfolio building tools.

Profile of BIP participants

Students with diverse educational background across campus.

Eligibility of students

  • Be registered as full-time students of any of VUM’s current or potential new partner universities located in the EU, Norway, or Turkey
  • Have applied for and obtained approval for participation in an Erasmus+ short-term mobility granted by their home institution
  • Have English language proficiency corresponding to at least level B1.

Minimum BIP requirements

Number of student BIP participants: min.15 students from sending institutions.

Application process

  • BIP student candidates must apply for an Erasmus+ KA131 BIP grant for short-term mobility at their home institution (please contact the International Relations Office of your University)
  • The home institution nominates their candidate(s) – home institutions are encouraged to initiate an internal call
  • Student applicants interested in the BIP are encouraged to establish contact with VUM Mobility Team (erasmus@vum.bg) for any questions, support or invitation letters, needed for applying for the grant at the home institution
  • Deadline for nominations of students by their home institutions to VUM: 31 March 2025
  • Nominations are to be emailed to erasmus@vum.bg

Erasmus+ grant for BIP participants to VUM

Basic subsistence costs: 79 EUR per day x 7 days (5 days on the spot + 2 days for travel) = 553 EUR

Possible top-ups: travel costs support, incl. green travel; inclusion top-up, if applicable.

Costs for travel, accommodation, and subsistence are covered by the Erasmus+ participants through their Erasmus+ grant.
