During the International Week hosted by ISIM Nice, Boryana Umnikova – a lecturer in the tourism programmes at Varna University of Management – participated in a specialised programme combining academic development, technological innovation, and hands-on field-based learning.

Strengthening international partnerships
Through structured networking sessions and meetings with faculty members, new opportunities were explored for Erasmus+ cooperation, joint teaching activities, and future research projects with partner institutions.

The programme included hands-on workshops on integrating AI into teaching – covering tools for curriculum design, student engagement, and academic research. These insights will support the modernisation of teaching approaches.
Practical insights into tourism development in Provence, France
As part of the field-based component, Boryana Umnikova took part in a regional tourism exhibition in Provence, where she had the opportunity to meet local stakeholders and destination managers. The focus was on sustainable tourism practices, destination branding, and experiential tourism concepts – directly applicable to education and research.
This mobility not only enhanced professional competencies but also opened new opportunities to enrich the curriculum at VUM with real-world case studies and an international perspective.
