Summer Internships Enhancing Personal and Professional Growth

At VUM, we focus on student mobilities for traineeships because we truly believe that these provide unique opportunities and have a significant impact on the learning paths and career development of our students. We are happy to share today the testimonial of our student Daria Dolganova, who is completing her 3-month internship in Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus, taking place from June to August 2025.

“My internship at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus is a very valuable experience within the Erasmus+ program. Although I study IBM rather than Hotel Management, I found it extremely useful to learn how a hotel business operates and to observe how managers build and lead their teams.

Working as a hostess give me the chance to practice communication with guests, understand their behavior, and find solutions to different problems.

One of the highlights of this internship is a professional service training, after which we received official certificates and improved our skills.

Every day, managers and supervisors help me understand how the hotel operates and provide practical guidance that supports my professional growth and makes me feel more confident at work.

At the same time, the internship is enjoyable on a personal level. We spend time together with my coworkers – going to the beach, playing tennis, and sharing experiences outside the work hours. 

Overall, this internship combines professional growth with cultural exchange, and it is truly unforgettable.”
