Outgoing Staff Mobility

Before the Mobility

All staff members selected for participation in an Erasmus+ mobility are invited to fill out and sign the following documents:

  • Staff Mobility Agreement for Teaching or Staff Mobility Agreement for Training (depending on the type of mobility): this is a trilateral agreement signed between the beneficiary, the home, and the receiving institution
  • Grant Agreement signed between the beneficiary and VUM, which stipulates the Erasmus+ grant and the conditions for the provision of financial support within the Erasmus+ programme.

Eligible duration of the staff mobility: from 2 days to up to 2 months excluding travel time and depending on the funding provided to the institution. In case of staff mobilities to partner universities in eligible third countries not associated to the programme, the minimum staff mobility duration is 5 days. In all cases, a teaching activity shall comprise a minimum of 8 hours per week.

Green travel

Staff members using sustainable means of transport to travel from the sending to the hosting country and back are entitled to receive additional top-up amount to their mobility grant. Sustainable means of transport (green travel) is defined as travel that uses low-emissions means of transport for the main part of the travel, such as bus, train or car-pooling.

Additional support for participants with fewer opportunities

In addition to the applicable Erasmus+ grant for staff mobility, participants with fewer opportunities such as physical, mental or health-related conditions are eligible to apply for additional financial support. The latter can cover actual costs to incur during the mobility with regards to special type of transportation, accommodation, personal assistant or medical tracking. Mobility participants who consider themselves as belonging to any of the here mentioned groups should contact VUM Erasmus+ team in person or send an email to erasmus@vum.bg.
